First time eating here. I saw someone with a large order and asked if the food was good. To her response, she said “Yea, it’s really good.” so I returned the next day. Got the Bourbon Chicken lunch special which comes with your choice of white rice or fried rice. I also added an egg roll. Everything was hot and fresh. I made my order online and walked to pick it up (about 0.8 miles); I had no issues with my food being soggy or cold when I got home and everything was packaged well. There are other Chinese-American staples that I’d like to try from the menu and then some. Will definitely be returning.
The tofu with garlic sauce, extra spicy, just keeps getting better and better. I've probably ordered it 200 times through the years. We get two servings per order. Thanks!
I really like this location. It’s really hard finding a decent Chinese spot. The food is consistent. Frier oil isn’t nasty and they also have their own delivery system. Which is like.
This place has authentic food. We know.. we've lived in Asia for many years ! We tried the Singapore noodles, spicy 😋. The pork finally had the beef. All very well cooked. We enjoyed well priced food that is cooked well. Furthermore, it's nice to support a family business!
Best Chinese in Norfolk. Not only Norfolk, but Ghent Norfolk. If you want high quality food and awesome service with respect, you found the perfect fast food Chinese restaurant. A++ service!
Eaten here regularly whilst living in Ghent (and would happily detour to, as well (update: have detoured and will do again!). Great tasting food and always well looked after with quick friendly service.
Edit: gave it a second chance. Is so good! Maybe the last time was a fluke. Tried the general TSO and the spicy beef. Both came with nice portions, hot and tasty. Also the service is pretty quick. The last time I was complaining about there being only 6 shrimp in the rice and shrimp. Also the beef tasted funky but not anymore.
We just moved to town and decided to try Yummy Wok for dinner. Being born and raised in NJ, I grew up around some of the best local Chinese food — so I can be a little picky when trying new places! Luckily, I don’t have to look any further. This is our new go-to spot. The hot and sour soup was perfect, and the vegetable lo mein was fresh and flavorful. My husband loved his wonton soup and Hunan beef. Overall, great experience — we’ll definitely be back!
I usually pick up and I’m never disappointed. Tonight we ordered for delivery and everything arrived so much faster than estimated, and hot! Delicious chicken lo mein and chicken + garlic sauce!
Yummy Wok is (as far as I know) the only place in the area that does Northern Chinese doughy dumplings, and they are wonderful. Rich and savory filling, garlic-soy-ginger-chive-vinegar dumplings sauce perfectly balanced, dough springy and chewy and comfort-food thick (and not tough or gluey, just worked exactly right). This dish is my food equivalent of a weighted blanket: heavy enough to settle and ground the body and mind, but also so flavorful that it cheers up the spirit. Highly recommend!
